We were influenced by Alan Moore's quote, "Since mankind's dawn, a handful of oppressors have accepted the responsibility over our lives that we should have accepted for ourselves. By doing so, they took our power. By doing nothing, we gave it away. We've seen where their way leads, through camps and wars, towards the slaughterhouse." Each of us incorporated aspects of Moore's quote while portraying the feelings associated with oppression. We wondered about the relationship between the oppressor and the oppressed. While the oppressor takes power from the victims, they victims also give it away. Through this piece, we aim to search deep in the souls of both sides of oppression to understand the complexities behind the loss and gain of power.
